Glorious Summer Morn!
This morning the sky was so blue and the air so fresh. I opened the front door to get the paper and just stood there, drinking it all in and feeling full. Full of the new mercies God gives us each day like manna.
Two weeks ago we were in California and I had the delight of meeting with a bunch of Sisterchicks on their book club night in Huntington Beach. Some of my friends and I along with my daughter joined their fabulous luau and just like this morning, we all felt filled. . . filled with awe at how God draws His people close in unbreakable bonds of unity. It was a little taste of heaven. I think some of the photos are posted on the gallery.
Mahalo, Noelani, for inviting me and for dancing your beautiful worship hula for us! And thank you so much Margaret for your gracious hospitality. You opened not only your home to us, but your heart as well.
Oh, and get this, the Huntington Beach Sisterchicks are reading "Sisterchicks in Sombreros" in the spring and are already planning for a Marache band and tamale making evening! They are definitely a creative bunch!
Basking in the mercies,
Robin

"GET ORGANIZED"
Those pointless words have been at the top of my To Do list for a very long time. This morning I told my husband that us creative types need lots of brain space in order to create and that leaves not so much room for thoughts on organization and tidiness.
I don't think he's buying it. It's a good thing love covers a multitude of messes!
Anyway . . . I AM actually getting a few pieces of my little nest organized. Or at least organized-ish. It's been crazier than usual around here. Our daughter and I be at the Women of Faith conference in Portland this weekend and on Monday we're taking a family road trip and driving her off to college! When we dropped our son off his first year of college I seriously had contractions. I know. You thought mamas only had contractions when their babies come. Well, I'm here to tell you they also have contractions when their babies leave.
So to all the rest of you forever-trying-to-get-organized Sisterchicks and to any other Mamachicks who are or will be experiencing baby-leaving contractions this fall . . . I'm with ya' all the way!
Breathe! Robin

Bunnies!
This afternoon I was watering the flowers in the front yard and a tiny bunny popped up from under the shade of a little bush and scampered across the lawn! The little fuzz ball was small enough to fit in the palm of my hand! So cute! I didn't know we had a bunny in our front yard. It made me so happy that I'm still smiling when I think of it. I might not be as giddy tomorrow if all the petunias are nibbled to nubs. But today I am filled with delight at the wonder of small things.
All things bright and beautiful. All creatures great and small. All things wise and wonderful. The LORD God made them all.
Bunny luv to you all, Robin
