Hi!
What a treat to meet some of you in Ft. Wayne! So fun! The next Women of Faith Conference I'll be going to is August 12-13 in Portland, Oregon.

This morning I looked up a verse a friend of mine had been quoting earlier this month. It's Zechariah 4:10.

"Do not despise these small beginnings
for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin."

Isn't that rich? What an image -- God rejoicing! Small beginnings. Yes. We all know about small beginnings.

My small beginning this week has been writing the first three pages of Sisterchicks in Gondolas! Each time I start a new story I come to the computer with the same mysterious mixture of emptiness and anticipation. The emptiness is because I feel so inadequate to the task. I don't know what's going to happen in the tale or where it will go or how it will end. The anticipation is because I want to see what happens! I feel like I'm watching these new imaginary friends who are shuffling around in my thoughts and I'm cheering for them. I want to see them break through their challenges and get filled up with hope and peace and life.

With every small beginning of a new story it truly feels as if God shows up and gently offers me something new. Every time. I love the way He does that. I'm empty. He fills. I'm inadequate. He provides. Every time. Small beginnings. And when the work begins, the LORD rejoices. Wow!

Go after it, Sisterchick. Whatever it is He's been gently nudging you to do. Start it. Begin today. Small beginnings, yes, I know. You don't know how it's going to turn out. That's okay. Just start. You begin the work. He'll show up like He always does and do the rejoicing.

What an amazing new day!
Robin
