Contests Galore And More!

A huge congrats to Marcia and her Sisterchick, Denise, who won the Sisterchicks Cruise to Mexico contest!

We received almost 100 entries and our judges had a very difficult time selecting the winner. So many of you have such awesome Sisterchicks and such moving stories! I wish we could have chosen 100 winners.

I was given the happy assignment of calling Marcia in Pennsylvania to tell her the happy news. She was stunned! She hadn't told Denise that she'd entered her in the contest so the news was an even bigger surprise for Denise when Marcia called her. The day I called Marcia, her home was getting blanketed with all that cold white stuff that shut down roads and businesses in Pennsylvania for several days.

For both of these Sisterchicks who have been friends for over 40 years, the promise of a getaway to sunny Mexico in October was definitely a dream come true!

I hope all those of you who entered but didn't win will still be able to join us on the cruise! And by the way, you can fit five Sisterchicks into a Penthouse Suite if one of you doesn't mind sleepign on a rollaway. It's a good way to pull down the costs for a group.

I Hope This Helps Answer Some of Your Questions!

For a number of months I've wanted to respond to some of the questions posted on Chick Chat regarding future books, what's happening with the Christy Miller and Friends website and what about Sisterchicks "stuff".

Here's the concise answer: Changes.

That was my word for last year. One of the big changes was that Multnomah Publishers was bought by WaterBrook Press, a division of Random House Publishers. The offices in Sisters, Oregon officially closed last week. (sigh) My editor, Julee, is making the move to Colorado to the new offices. (smile!) The next Sisterchicks novel is back at the top of my "To Do" list. (glee!) The former support team that took care of things like the ChristyMillerandFriends forum is gone. (sniff!) I'm starting to work with a new part time assistant, Rachel Z. (lovely!) And I am at last in a place where I can once again consider all the delightful suggestions regarding Sisterchicks "stuff".

That's the short version of the past ten months. The long version would include lots of emails and phone calls and plane flights and lawyers and graying of the hair. Oh, and maybe a little dark chocolate along the way.

So what's next? I've been asking God the same thing. "What's next, Papa? Where You lead me, I will follow."
