February 2006

2/21/2006

It began with a simple problem.

We had damage to the ceiling in our living room so we had to have it repaired and repainted. Why not paint the whole living room since we're doing the ceiling? And you know, the entryway and hall have never been painted either. But that leads to the kitchen and the original wallpaper is beginning to peel and . . . .

So. Now you know what we've been doing around here for the last three weeks! Oh, and when we moved the furniture and saw the shocking condition of the carpet, well, yes. The carpet cleaner guy came last Friday and the carpets have never looked so good.

The house still smells of paint. We only have one picture back up on the wall. But it's done. And it's fresh and friendly and we keep wondering why we didn't do this years ago. Then we remind each other of what the last few weeks have been like and we instantly know why we didn't attack these projects years ago.

Anyone else been insane enough to tackle a huge home improvement project lately? They make it look so easy on TV!

Smiles,
Robin
